2009 PELLA Cabernet Sauvignon

$125.00
Limited Availability

Kristof handcrafted four barrels in 2009 from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, sourced from prestigious, non-disclosed Napa Valley vineyards. 100% French Oak.

The 2009 PELLA greets the nose with aromatics of eucalyptus, incense, and sandalwood. The wine is savory and spicy with bright acidity and a restrained and lifted style reminiscent of Bordeaux wine.

Warm, round fruit flavors of rhubarb, raspberry, and elderberry intermingle with herbaceous flavors of baby leaf, rosemary, and cinnamon. Waves of flavor finish on the palate with powdered bitter chocolate and silky, creme brulee texture.

The wine is leaner, brighter, and more savory than the decadent 2008 vintage, with a subtle mineral elegance.

We are digging deep into our library and offering our last five cases for sale.

750 ml. ALC 14.5%.

We recommend using a business delivery address to receive wine shipments, as we are required by law to have an adult (over age 21) signature for wine deliveries. UPS will make 3 delivery attempts, and the customer will then be billed $24.00, in addition to return shipping costs.

A note on corks and decanting in older wines:  We recommend using a dual-pronged Ah-So opener to gently, patiently finesse the cork. Gentleness is key, and individual corks vary, some prone to crumbling, others firm and easy to extract. If a cork crumbles or is pushed into the wine bottle, as sometimes occurs, we recommend decanting with a sieve. Decanting will only enhance the nuanced flavors of a mature wine.  Finally, shipping can disturb sediment in older wines, so some rare wine collectors recommend cellaring & allowing sediment to settle to the bottom before enjoying.
