Catraro Goffredo Miniature Silver Lithograph Depicting Renoir's "At the Concert"
Elegance in miniature, this timeless, collectable, framed art by Catraro Goffredo was produced by Bottega D’Arte in Italy in 1982. The image depicts Renoir’s painting “At the Concert” and was part of the Great Authors collection inspired by renowned artists.
The piece is a quadricromia (4-color printing) on sterling silver plate and is numbered 389/500. Dimensions of framed piece are roughly 4 1/2” x 5”. In excellent condition, though the silver engraving is positioned a few millimeters left of center in the frame, if you look carefully.
This tiny piece lends warmth and elegance to the guest room or library nook. It begs to be paired with a stack of books and vase of garden roses. It also has a vague whiff of the prosperous ‘80’s about it. The collector. The investor. The 925 silver plate.
But that’s OK. The World Economic Forum tried hard to sell “You’ll Own Nothing and Be Happy” during the pandemic, and no one bought it. Maybe thoughtful appreciation for—and ownership of—objects of beauty is the new best way to rebel against the system.
